Write for The Lighthouse

Thank you for your interest in writing for The Lighthouse Blog.

Please review the following points, and complete the form below if you feel you are a good fit for our requirements.

What We Publish

Blogs for https://thelighthouse.social/blog/ should be written with a busy social media manager in mind. After reading the blog they should be inspired by real-life examples and think ‘that was interesting and useful’, plus “I’ll come back to this website again!”

Blogs should be a minimum of 600 words, easy-to-read and have up to three key takeaways. These takeaways should be clearly explained either at the beginning of the blog, or in a summary at the end.

We are not looking for ‘how-to’ articles or training materials. We seek to share insights and examples from real-world practitioners, across different industry sectors.

Blogs should be based on fact rather than myths or opinion. References should be included wherever possible (embedded links). In particular you should avoid writing about social media algorithms unless reporting on a news piece that is directly from a platform talking about their algorithm.

Research cited should not be dated before March 2020. Data points should not be older than 12 months, ideally less than 6 months. You will be required to embed any links to research/data sources within the document you submit.

Blogs published on https://thelighthouse.social/blog/ must be 100% original content.
